SEI creates new porous Aluminum-Celmet, makes rechargeable batteries last longer

Quick: What costs hundreds of dollars and dies after four hours? If your answer included anything portable and tech-based -- you guessed right. In fact, most of our magical and exciting gadgetry has less-than-stellar means of holding a charge, but a recent breakthrough by Sumitomo Electric Industries could change all that. Employing the same process used to create Celmet (a NiMH component), researchers at the R&D company managed to coax aluminum into being a bit more receptive. The resulting Aluminum-Celmet has a whopping 98 percent porosity rate, leaving the Li-ion gate wide-open for a flood of electrical juice. And unlike its nickel-based brother, this piece de porous non-resistance has a steep corrosive threshold that could soon help power a line of high-capacity, small form rechargeable batteries. Production is already underway at Osaka Works, with SEI hoping to speed adoption of these franken-batts into our mass consuming mitts. Technical-jargony PR release after the break.

Bible focus part 1 ? Bible says no! | Accepting Evangelicals

? A Pentecost message ? open the doors!

Posted on by Benny

?First published on Benny?s Blog in 2010 and adapted for Accepting Evangelicals.

I remember the first negative comment I had on ?Benny?s Blog?.

Anonymous said ? ??. You are an Evangelical and you presumably know your Bible yet you say homosexuality is fine ? Accept the people, sins and all, but the practice is not OK and you should know it. Goodness, there are plenty of Biblical admonitions about it.
I`m not even an Evangelical and it seems crystal clear to me.

?I was actually amazed that it had taken so long.? When we launched Accepting Evangelicals in 2004, we immediately had a flood of the most awful emails expressing that hope that we would die a slow painful death and burn in hell ? so actually, this mildly negative comment was not only long overdue, but also extremely polite and reserved.

What has not moved on however, is the mistaken belief about what the Bible does and does not say on the subject of same sex relationships.

It reminds me of the Little Britain sketch where the unhelpful bank clerk just keeps repeating ?Computer says no?? - no discussion, no debate, no reasons ? just no.

Far from there being ?plenty of Biblical admonitions? on the subject there are only a handful of verses which talk about homosexuality, and understanding ?exactly what they mean or refer to is by no means straightforward.? Yet the perception remains in many people?s minds that this is an open and shut case.

Even Theologians? who are committed to a conservative line against same sex relationships, acknowledge that there is not much in the Bible to go on.?? One such theologian is R.Hays, quoted in the Church of England?s official document on the subject ?Some issues in human sexuality? (2003).?? He talks about the ?Slender evidence of the New Testament? in relation to homosexuality -and he is right.? It is mentioned on only 3 occasions, and only one of these contains any attempt to portray a theological explanation for why such attraction might be wrong.

The Old Testament is no better.? There are only 2 clear references, both in the same section of Leviticus (18:22 and 20:13) and the second is merely a reiteration of the first for the purpose of setting down a penalty for the ?crime?.? Other references in Deuteronomy are almost universally understood to be about temple prostitution whether heterosexual or (by inference) homosexual, so contribute nothing to the current debate on sex relationships.

Other passages ? eg the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 19 ? whilst having a sexual component to them, are not principally about homosexuality, but about rape, inhumanity, and breaking the laws of hospitality which were deeply ingrained in fabric and culture of the Middle East.? Hence it was considered acceptable(even proper) for Lot to offer his daughters to be gang raped by the mob in order to protect his visitors!

On top of all this, Jesus appears to have been entirely silent on the issue, and if you are a lesbian, you can rejoice that there is even less to go on.? ?Leviticus refers exclusively to men, and only one of the three references in the New Testament (Romans 1) includes sexual attraction between women.?

So far from there being plenty of Biblical admonitions against homosexuality, the reality is that the Biblical evidence is both flimsy and fragmented.? We need to delve deeper to see what exactly is being considered in those verses and to see to what extent it might apply today.

The problem is, just like the Little Britain ?sketch where the bank clerk says over and over again ?Computer says No!? ? ?there are many too many Christians who are content to roll out the same mantra time after time ? ?Bible says No!? ? without ever considering the evidence and what the Bible actually says.

That doesn?t mean that what the Bible says is unimportant however.? As an evangelical, I consider it? vitally important to build my understanding of the Christian faith on the Bible.

So once a month for the next few months, we will be taking a close look at what the Bible says on same sex relationships, and what that means today.? We know, of course, that we are not doing anything new here, as many have trod this road before, but as long as there are people out there who think the same way as Mr/s Anonymous,?we think it needs to be done.? We just hope and pray that all who care about this issue will be a little more responsive than the bank clerk in Little Britain.

Next month ? Leviticus 18?

That book was purchased in 2008, 2 others in 2009, 6 in 2010, 12 in 2011 (8 this May). All were purchased from independent booksellers: 11 books purchased at Greenlight (my localest independent bookstore), 4 books purchased at the Strand, 3 from Better World Books, 1 at the Housing Works Bookstore, 1 from Powell?s, and 1 at Crow Bookshop. I had borrowed 4 of the books from the library before purchasing.

My library unfurled in a way that is technically impossible. But I wanted an image that suggested what it was like to be in the room, which this does fairly well.

Great books from great people.

Campeche Real Estate ? Land Investment Alternative to U.S. Market ...

Campeche Real Estate ? Land Investment Alternative to U.S. Market

While housing prices continue to drop in the U.S., buyers looking for more promising possibilities should consider investing in Mexico land in up-and-coming real estate market, such as Campeche Real Estate.

?

The most recent official statistics from the U.S show that from in March prices had fallen 0.5% from February; while the number is small, the ongoing drop suggests that the market is not yet stable, an opinion supporte by Dean Baker, a housing market expert who predicted the 2006 bubble.

?

On one hand, homeowners with no pressure to sell can be fairly sure that at some point the market will stabilize; on the other hand, those looking for an opportunity to invest in real estate may want to look elsewhere for the moment, avoiding the current instability of the market.

?

One excellent example is in the Mexican state of Campeche, on the Yucatan Peninsula. This state shows clear signs of being Mexico?s next big tourist center, with two new residential-golf resort developments. One of them a marina as well, which has just recently started delivering condo units with a starting price around 0,000 U.S. The colonial city of Campeche (capital of the state) has just invested into completely restoring it?s colonial city center. Several of the beachfront towns have been improving their boardwalk areas, developing tourism potential.

?

This is good news for Americans looking to invest in real estate, especially if you DON?T have 0,000 to invest in a condo; just down the road from the city of Campeche and the new marina development, a miles-long stretch of wide beachfront with soft, white sand begins. Lots with 33 ft of virgin beachfront can be found for as low as ,000.

?

On this Cheap Mexico Beachfront Real Estate, for about 0,000 more, you can have a personally designed house built. Some developments already have water, electricity, phone and internet hook ups. While the total cost for you will be about 5,000, this beachfront home will be worth considerably more as tourism keeps growing in Campeche. A large number of American and Canadian buyers have already been buying in this area, and are making plans to build their future beachfront home. For those who choose to live in this home, many more services will come available, in addition to the modern hospitals, new shopping centers and many restaurants, cafes and activities in the area which already exist.

?

For this same price you could also by another house in Grand Rapids, Michigan, for example. While there is probably a fine community in that city, like many others in the U.S., it?s been having it?s troubles, and there?s no certainty that the price will go up any time soon; it might even continue to drop. Besides that, the closest beach is only warm enough to use for 3 months a year!

Article Directory ? Building Your Internet Business with Outsourcing

Internet marketing has become a busy field, with online entrepreneurs having to handle various unique tasks. Every marketer experiences the crush of daily responsibilities plus the challenge when it comes to effective time management. One possible solution to this is to outsource those things that require the most time to do. When you plan to outsource your Internet marketing tasks, it gives you the freedom to focus on growing your business. But just remember that doing all of that will require time and patience because it?s not something that?s overnight. There is a learning curve, but once you get through it, there?s absolutely no stopping. Further down in the article we share a few solid outsourcing tips that will help anyone get this off the ground.

It?s a common and accepted practice to ask for work samples when you?re evaluating a potential hire. If the worker isn?t able to provide you 2-3 samples, then its better you look for someone else. Your aim is to find someone who has the experience of getting the job done skillfully.

There?s nothing wrong with asking for references, or testimonials, and do all you can to satisfy that the work they show you is original. There are odd situations when samples are not possible, but references are possible ? so maybe have some flexibility. If anyone cannot provide you with anything at all, then never offer any sort of payment upfront. The bottom line is that it?s your decision, so choose wisely.

Clear and exact communications with whoever you deal with are super important. You should also plan to train the people you hire as it will be easier and more efficient, and some people even create training videos and/pdfs. In addition to videos you can create screen shot series to show them all the necessary steps. This is the most efficient method to get this part done. So make sure you help the people you hire as much as you can, so they can give you good results. They?ll be able to get things done and more accurately.

If you get big enough, or busy enough, you can even outsource your customer service needs. This is nothing new and has been going on for a very long time. This is one area in which you will realize a great deal of savings in your time. Naturally, you need to have first class customer service because it?s important to business, so choose wisely on this one.

Nothing is preventing you from succeeding online except not taking the correct course of action, if you change the way you run your business you can have massive success. Before all of the software and tools, you had to create your own solutions. Today, almost everything can be automated. Outsourcing to skilled people is one of the best business decisions that you ever make for your online business. After you see how much more work you get done and more money you make you will wish you would?ve been outsourcing long ago. And the best part about outsourcing is that if you already have something that is working; all you have to do is put out more of the same to scale it up.

Health Insurance in France Guide ? ArticleHonor.com

Regardless of being expensive to maintain ? the deficit is at the moment round about 6 billion euros ? and below constant funding strain the French healthcare service remains to be the most effective on the planet, offering a large alternative of general practitioners and healthcare specialists. For individuals who have experience of the health system in France and, for example, the UK, the contrast in requirements might be startling.

The French healthcare system is funded by the working population. French employees pay about 20 per cent of their gross salary ? the self-employed pay even more ? deducted at supply, to fund the social security system, often called S?curit? sociale. A significant proportion of this cash goes towards public healthcare, to which each authorized resident of France has access underneath the regulation of common protection known as Mutuelle Generale.

*** Prior to now all EU expats arriving in France have been eligible to join the French healthcare system. Nevertheless, now those arriving in France after 23 November 2007, and who aren?t planning to work, are formally retired or in possession of paperwork which imply their healthcare costs are coated by the government of their authentic nation, won?t be allowed to affix the system till they attain state retirement age or have lived right here for five years. Till then, they?ve to hold private well being insurance. For more on this see Healthcare modifications in France ? what it?s essential know.

When a person subscribes to S?curit? sociale, a part of the cost of their medical remedy is roofed by the state. Nonetheless, no matter cowl anybody in France can seek the advice of a doctor or specialist. Equally, everyone has the proper to emergency hospital treatment, although for many who subscribe to S?curit? sociale, the associated fee is partly reimbursed.

State healthcare
To compare the NHS and private sector in the UK with the identical in France is akin to evaluating apples with oranges. There is no great distinction in the high quality of care between personal and public hospitals in France and there is not essentially any nice distinction in price. Being handled in private clinics in France doesn?t imply avoiding ready lists for the straightforward purpose that, with a number of particular exceptions, ready lists such as these in the UK don?t exist. And going personal does not imply you?ll have to foot the whole bill.

Not like within the UK in France treatment, whether non-public or public, is not free on the level of delivery. Even if you subscribe to the S?curit? sociale, on seeing a physician or specialist (specialiste) you first pay the complete invoice (tarif) and are then reimbursed at a later date (about 10 days). Usually talking, S?curit? sociale refunds 70 per cent of the price of a go to to a m?decin traitant (a GP or family physician) and most specialistes. For more data on the level of reimbursement see Healthcare France FAQ

When you affiliate to the system you?ll receive your carte vitale (inexperienced card) which you should take with you whenever you go to a health care provider, specialist or hospital, and when you decide up prescribed medicines.

The health system is presently present process essentially the most substantial modifications to the best way it works since it started 60 years in the past in 1947. This makes the state of affairs ever changing, and increasingly complex.

Since 2006, to qualify for full reimbursement you should register with a m?decin traitant ? see Tips on how to Affiliate. When you attend a cupboard de groupe (group observe) you still should nominate a selected physician but should that person be unavailable and you have to be handled by one other member of the observe, the rate of reimbursement will be the same.

Children underneath 16 years of age must have the declaration signed by a father or mother or guardian but members of the same family can have a distinct m?dicin traitant. If the GP or specialist will not be your m?decin traitant then the rate of reimbursement is just 60 per cent. There are exceptions to the reimbursement rule ? for extra information see .

You might be free to choose your individual GP, and can change them at will by submitting a recent declaration, which will cancel the present one.

The Tarif de Convention
In France all medical remedies from a routine visit to a GP to main surgical procedures have a tarif (value). Medical practitioners and hospitals/clinics that adhere to this official tarif de conference are outlined as convention?. These that don?t are defined as non-convention? and may cost what they like, though they do must display their prices. Should you go to a non-convention? you?ll have to cowl the extra value yourself.

Maybe, surprisingly, the vast majority of practitioners (round 97%) are convention?, and even a personal clinic can still be convention? so ?going private? in France does not have the same connotation as that same phrase would in the UK.

Depassements.
Nonetheless being treated at a convention? does not assure the amount that you simply pay, and the reimbursement you receive. Although chances are you?ll be treated by a medical practitioner classed as convention? she or he can cost more than the Tarif de Convention offered it is ?reasonable and tactful? to do so. So, for instance, a surgeon who has further qualifications or experience in other countries could cost extra for his or her services. This supplementary charge is known as a depassement.

Depassements are not inevitable and are more likely to be utilized in some elements of France more than others. For example, they?re generally utilized in Paris and the Cote d?Azur areas, maybe as a result of they?re perceived to be more affluent. Although a couple of actes (procedures) by secteur 1 medical practitioners can entice depassements it?s inevitable for those in secteur 2 (for the totally different between the two sectors see Specialistes beneath). A tarif or their charges must be displayed of their cabinets.

Top up Insurance or Polices Comparatif Mutuelle Sant? Senior: Even if you find yourself affiliated to the French system an elementary precept of healthcare funding in France is the aspect of non-public contribution. To make up the difference between what the state pays and the cost of remedy, most French residents take out an insurance coverage to cover the distinction (complement). That is known as a police compl?mentaire or mutuelle.

Observe: Complementary insurance is just not private well being insurance.

There are all kinds of suppliers (together with at the very least one UK insurer ? seeHealthcare France FAQ providing an intensive range of plans to fulfill particular person circumstances. The duvet you choose is as much as you ? someone who is generally good well being may solely wish for cover for the actually costly objects e.g. hospitalisation, leaving a routine go to to the physician to be funded out of their very own pocket. However somebody on regular medicine may require a plan that might cowl this price (prescribed medicines are reimbursed 35% or 65% by the state).

If your revenue after allowances falls under a sure threshold (for example, ?10,768 for a couple) and also you do not have a police compl?mentaire, you?re eligible to complementary state-funded healthcare, the CMU compl?mentaire, which can make up the difference, though as a rule of thumb, it would solely provide an average stage of cover.

Your premiums will rely upon age and stage of cover required. An necessary precept with polices compl?mentaires is that the state should be proved to have paid its share earlier than the insurance pays the difference. Subsequently, you have to be affiliated before contemplating the acquisition of a policy. See Complementary Well being Insurance

Specialistes
Specialistes are divided into Secteur 1 and Secteur 2. Specialists of all sorts will be either 1 or 2 but the latter are extra often encountered in some areas of France than others, for instance, the large cities, particularly Paris.

Specialistes whose costs are coated by the state
Gynaecologists, ophthalmologists, and dentists are lined by the state with out referral by a m?decin traitant; younger kids may also visit any physician without being referred by a m?decin traitant.

Extra Payment for actes medicaux in excess of E91
The surplus is 18? however there are lots of exceptions corresponding to laboratory exams and X-rays.

KUALA LUMPUR (AFP) ? The Philippine government told a Muslim separatist group Monday that it needed to "discipline its forces" as the two sides met in Malaysia in efforts to thrash out a long-awaited peace agreement.

Manila and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) are striving to end a deadly decades-old insurgency in the southern Philippines through drawn-out peace negotiations which restarted in February.

In a statement, the Philippine government said it had deferred its submission of a peace deal proposal. The MILF put forward its draft at the last session, in April.

But both parties said they considered Monday's informal meeting in Kuala Lumpur "productive" and have agreed on the next round of formal talks -- to be held in the beginning of August, the statement said.

Philippine government negotiator Marvic Leonen "also engaged the Moro group on what he described as 'pressing concerns' and the need for the MILF to 'discipline its forces,'" the statement said.

It said Leonen had received military reports that Ameril Umbrakato, a former MILF commander, had tried to help one of his commanders involved in the May kidnapping of a Philippine businesswoman.

MILF are also alleged to have kidnapped the relatives of the suspects in the kidnapping, according to the statement.

Leonen also said that an ongoing feud between two MILF bases had resulted in the displacement of 4,000 villagers, and warned the MILF not to become an "obstacle" to reforms.

The government had earlier praised MILF for its help to rescue the kidnapped woman in a joint operation. The woman was seized by gunman from her home in the southern province of Maguindanao but rescued 10 days later.

At the previous round of talks, MILF negotiators had brushed aside Manila's concerns over the threat posed by Umbrakato, who quit the group last year, taking at least a thousand fighters with him.

The MILF started its rebellion for an independent Islamic state in the mineral-rich region of Mindanao in 1978 and more than 150,000 people have since been killed.

In 2003, a truce was signed to pave the way for peace talks, but the process broke down. Negotiations to end the 33-year insurgency are brokered by Malaysia.

Al Azhar

Mona El Kayal

Morocco Word News

Cairo, June 25, 2011

The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad al-Tayeb, the country?s highest religious authority and? the world?s most important seat of Sunni learning issued? a statement titled ?Al-Azhar Document? to outline the institution?s vision on key political, social and economic issues that have been subject to raging debates across the country for months.

Sheikh Ahmed El-Tayeb, met with intellectuals from various backgrounds and religious scholars as part of a dialogue that issued in the publication of a document setting out the institution?s political position.

The Document contains 11 main articles, according to the document, Al-Azhar supports ?the establishment of a modern, democratic and constitutional state? in Egypt that will observe the separation of powers and will guarantee equal rights to all citizens.

This document is the first?for 150 years that has introduced a comprehensive project stemming from Egyptian identity and Islamic culture.

The document, which aims to define the relationship between the state and religion at this important moment in the country?s history, says that the principles of Islamic Sharia law are ?the basic source of legislation? in Egypt, while adding that Egyptian citizens who are not Muslim should refer to their own religious traditions in deciding matters relating to personal status law.

The document also affirms the rights of non-Muslims concerning their places of worship as it calls for respect to be shown to the three monotheistic religions as well as for protection of their places of worship. ?All citizens should have the right to practice their religion?, the document says, warning of the dangers of instigating sectarian rifts, which it describes as a ?national crime?.

The second article of the document declares that Al-Azhar embraces democracy, based on a free and direct ballot, which represents the modern formula of the Islamic precept of ?shura? (or consultation?. Democracy as such guarantees multi-pluralism, circulation of power and accountability to the people.

Then the document confirms that Al-Azhar fully respects the ethics of opinion and counter-opinion and of dialogue. And that Al-Azhar is committed to all international covenants, decisions and achievements in consistency with the tolerant Arab and Islamic culture and that the Egyptian people gives a good example throughout ages of their peaceful co-existence they introduced to humanity at large.

The document also asserted that Al-Azhar is giving priority to women and children?s rights and insisting on the necessity of the separation of powers and the independence of the judiciary.

The document guaranteed that Al-Azhar is also keen on upholding freedom of artistic and literary expression and creativity within the context of ?our established cultural values?.

El-Tayeb reiterates calls for future grand sheikhs of Al-Azhar to be elected by a council of scholars versed in Islamic Sharia law.

One of the most important articles of the document for the time being says that Al-Azhar believes that achieving development and social justice, battling oppression and corruption, eliminating unemployment and providing health care should top our priority list for achieving revival.

Al-Azhar believes that Egypt should contribute to Man?s noble efforts towards advancing humanity, protecting the environment, achieving just peace among all nations; all this while supporting the rights of the Palestinian people, maintaining the independence of Egypt?s will and striving to regain its historic leading role.

SWTOR Accounts: Star Wars Galaxies Shutting Down For The Old ...

? June 25, 2011Posted in: Star Wars: The Old Republic

Star Wars Galaxies which originally launched close to 10 years ago will effectively shut down on December 15, 2011 on what appears to be a decision Lucas Arts is making in order to make way for the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR).

This news comes at a very disturbing time for us as well as thousands of other players who invested years into their lives only for it to go down the drain. While this is the first time a MMO has shut down that is actively making profit, the belief here is they are doing this to just move forward with doing it right.

This just shows you that if you?re going to spend time on a MMO, the right way is to buy a SWTOR Account that you don?t get emotional over when it comes time to selling it because it wasn?t originally yours to begin with.

Here is the official announcement from Star Wars: The Old Republic.
