WAYNE, Pa. (CBS) ? The holidays can be a tough time for families dealing with debilitating illnesses so a Delaware Valley non-profit organization is doing what it can to brighten things up just a bit.
Forty families in the tri-state area are on the receiving end of the generosity of the Great Guys Group, a Wayne-based organization that helps families battling cancer. This weekend they are delivering presents to six families and earlier this week they paid the bills for another three dozen families. Paul Isenberg is the CEO and co-founder.
?People are blown away that somebody who doesn?t even know them valued them and treats them as family and there?s a great appreciation,? said Isenberg.
He says the organization raises money throughout the year to pay the mortgage, rent, utilities and other critical bills that help keep families in their homes. Isenberg has seen it first-hand. His first wife died after a long bout with the disease. He says cancer kills and it can bankrupt families.
