If you see that the supplier is extremely reluctant to accept an offer, make a note of this and try a different tactic or else you risk alienating them.

Finally, whenever you have completed a negotiation, you should go through everything at the end of the meeting to make sure there are no misunderstandings. Preferably, you should make sure everything is in writing as soon as possible so that you can make a final agreement on what you have come up with before signing the contracts. Being prepared to listen to your supplier and taking on board their arguments will not only make them more amenable to you but could also help the quality of your deal.
