This year the company will be actively engaging with the public - inviting them to sign up and pledge their commitment to safer driving habits while also giving visitors the opportunity to test their driving skills on a small track and find out just what can happen if they don't concentrate behind the wheel.
The Zubair Automotive Group has been a pioneer in the automotive business in Oman since 1973 and has since inception been fully committed to introducing the safest vehicles to the roads and offering customers a broad range of advice and safety products to keep them and their families safe while driving.
Commenting on their sponsorship and presence at the Traffic Safety Expo, Zubair Automotive Group General Manager Serdar Toktamis said, "We have always been a leader in encouraging safer driving in Oman and are very proud to once again be taking a major part in this annual event and working closely with the organisers and the Royal Oman Police in effectively communicating the road safety message across the Sultanate."
"Sadly far too many people die and are injured on our roads every year with the figures far too high for a small nation such as ours. This year we are seeking to build support from the public and get their commitment to driving more safely and give them some practical demonstrations of what happens if they fail to pay attention while driving and lose concentration. Our aim is to play our role in helping to reduce accidents and fatalities on the roads of the country and encourage drivers of every kind of vehicle to make sure they can enjoy A Safer Journey when they set out to their destination," Serdar added.
Traffic Safety Expo organisers say they are delighted at the support from the Zubair Automotive Group for the event once again. Commenting on their support, Mr. Ebrahim Taher - project Manager from conference organiser OITE said, "It is vitally important to get the support of the automotive industry in Oman for our road safety initiatives and we are very pleased at the commitment shown by one of the Sultanate's leaders in the industry to our initiative. Their support during the exhibition and ongoing across their network of showrooms and outlets across Oman is a hugely important part of ensuring that the roads of Oman become safer and we reduce the number of fatalities and accidents on our highways."
The Zubair Automotive Group launched their "Safer Journey" initiative at the Road Traffic Safety Expo in 2010 as part of a long-term campaign and commitment to creating a safer driving environment across Oman and encouraging responsible driving habits.
During the Expo event the company will be encouraging visitors to its stand to pledge their support to the Safer Journey campaign and to ensure they adopt safer driving habits. Individuals will be asked to pledge not to use their mobile phone when driving, use child safety seats for their family, always wear a seat belt, have their car regularly checked and serviced and keep to the speed limit.
It is planned to roll out this pledge campaign across the company's comprehensive network of showrooms that have a presence in every major town and city across Oman.
This year the Traffic Safety Expo will be run from 18-20 October at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.
